The DiMarzio Fusion Edge set is a pair of passive humbucking pickups developed in collaboration with Ibanez for modern RG and Iron Label guitars. It uses ceramic magnets and a high-output wind designed to deliver an active-like response while remaining fully passive in operation. The set is voiced specifically for high-gain playing styles that demand tight low-end control and strong note separation.

The tonal character is defined by a fast, compressed attack with a very controlled bass response and a pronounced upper-mid presence that helps riffs stay clear in dense mixes. The bridge pickup delivers sharp articulation and aggressive pick response for palm-muted rhythm work, while the neck pickup provides a smoother but still focused lead tone with extended sustain and reduced low-end bloom.

The Fusion Edge set is designed for extended-range and drop-tuned guitars where clarity under distortion is essential. It maintains consistency across high-output settings while keeping string definition intact during fast passages, complex chord voicings, and saturated amplifier tones.
