Quick Summary
The Dunlop FFM1 Silicon Fuzz Face Mini delivers the aggressive, harmonically rich character of a classic silicon Fuzz Face in a smaller, pedalboard-friendly enclosure.
This used example is in Good condition, showing cosmetic signs of previous ownership and regular pedalboard use. Its matched BC108 silicon transistors produce a bright, cutting fuzz sound with plenty of gain, while simple Volume and Fuzz controls keep operation immediate and intuitive.
What Makes the Dunlop FFM1 Silicon Fuzz Face Mini Special?
The FFM1 is voiced from a prized 1970 Fuzz Face in Dunlop's collection and uses matched BC108 silicon transistors to recreate the brighter, more aggressive side of the classic Fuzz Face sound.
Unlike the large vintage-style enclosure of a traditional Fuzz Face, the Mini format is much easier to integrate into a modern pedalboard. Dunlop also added practical features including an on/off LED, external DC power connection and convenient battery access while retaining straightforward two-knob operation.
Who Is It For?
The FFM1 is ideal for guitarists looking for classic silicon fuzz with strong attack, rich sustain and excellent interaction with the guitar's volume control.
It is particularly suited to blues-rock, psychedelic, classic rock, alternative and lead guitar sounds, and works especially well placed early in the signal chain where it can respond directly to the guitar's pickups.

FAQs
What type of fuzz is the Dunlop FFM1?
The FFM1 is a silicon-based version of the classic Fuzz Face circuit, designed for a brighter and more aggressive fuzz character.
What transistors does it use?
It uses matched BC108 silicon transistors.
How does silicon Fuzz Face tone differ from germanium?
Silicon Fuzz Face circuits are generally brighter, tighter and more aggressive, with more available gain than the softer character associated with traditional germanium versions.
What controls does the FFM1 have?
It has two controls: Volume for overall output level and Fuzz for the amount of fuzz and saturation.
How much gain does it provide?
Dunlop specifies a maximum gain of approximately 55dB.
Does it clean up with the guitar volume control?
Yes. One of the characteristic behaviours of a Fuzz Face circuit is its interaction with the guitar's volume control, allowing saturated fuzz to clean up considerably as the guitar volume is reduced.
Where should I place it in my signal chain?
Fuzz Face-style pedals generally work particularly well near the beginning of the signal chain, where they can interact directly with the guitar's pickups.
Is it smaller than a traditional Fuzz Face?
Yes. The Mini enclosure provides the classic circular Fuzz Face styling in a substantially more pedalboard-friendly footprint.
Does it have an LED?
Yes. A blue status LED indicates when the effect is engaged.
Does it use true bypass?
Yes. The FFM1 uses true hardwire bypass.
Can it run from a battery?
Yes. It accepts a standard 9V battery and has a convenient underside battery compartment.
What power supply does it require?
It can be powered from a compatible 9V DC pedal power supply.
How much current does it draw?
Current consumption is approximately 3.4mA.
Is a power supply included?
No. No power supply is included with this used pedal.
What condition is this example in?
This example is graded Good, with cosmetic signs of previous use consistent with a pre-owned effects pedal.
