WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT
The JV Modified '60s Stratocaster is designed for players who like the appearance and feel of vintage Fender instruments but want a few modern conveniences built in.
The Thick Soft “V” neck profile gives the guitar a more substantial feel than many modern Strats, while the 9.5" radius and medium-jumbo frets make bends and general playing more forgiving than a traditional 7.25" vintage radius.
The vintage-style locking tuners also improve restringing convenience, while the additional switching option broadens the range of sounds available from the traditional three-single-coil layout.
DETAILED FEATURES & BENEFITS
Basswood Body
The basswood body provides a balanced tonal foundation with a strong midrange and a responsive feel.
It also helps keep the overall instrument manageable in weight.
Olympic White Finish
The Olympic White finish gives the guitar a clean, classic Fender appearance that works especially well with the maple fingerboard and parchment pickguard.
Thick Soft “V” Maple Neck
The maple neck uses Fender’s Thick Soft “V” profile.
This gives the guitar a more substantial vintage-inspired feel than many slim modern necks, while remaining comfortable for chord work and lead playing.
Maple Fingerboard
The maple fingerboard gives the guitar a bright, traditional Fender look and complements the one-piece maple neck construction.
9.5" Fingerboard Radius
The 9.5" radius provides a useful middle ground between vintage and modern Fender specifications.
It retains a comfortably rounded feel while making bends and lower action easier than on a traditional 7.25" board.
21 Medium-Jumbo Frets
The medium-jumbo fretwire provides a more substantial playing surface than small vintage frets, making bends and vibrato easier while maintaining a familiar Stratocaster feel.
Vintage-Style Strat Pickups
Three vintage-style single-coil Strat pickups provide the classic range of Fender tones, from warm neck sounds through scooped in-between positions to bright and articulate bridge tones.
Expanded Push/Pull Switching
The push/pull Tone 2 control adds the neck pickup into selected switch positions.
This expands the standard 5-way Stratocaster switching system and gives access to combinations not normally available on a conventional Strat.
Vintage-Style Locking Tuners
The vintage-style locking machine heads maintain a traditional appearance while making restringing quicker and helping keep excess string wraps to a minimum.
Vintage-Style Tremolo
The 6-saddle synchronized tremolo with bent steel saddles provides the familiar feel and expressive pitch control associated with a traditional Stratocaster.
7.92 lbs Actual Weight
This individual guitar weighs 7.92 lbs, giving buyers a precise indication of how this specific example will feel.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The Fender JV Modified '60s Stratocaster is particularly well suited to blues, rock, funk, indie, pop, soul and general-purpose guitar players who want a vintage-inspired Strat with slightly more modern playability.
It should also appeal to players specifically looking for a high-quality Made in Japan Fender with distinctive neck feel and additional switching options.
PLAYING STYLES & APPLICATIONS
The traditional SSS pickup layout makes this guitar especially versatile for blues, funk, rock, pop, indie, soul and clean rhythm work.
The neck pickup delivers warm and rounded tones, the bridge pickup adds clarity and attack, while the in-between positions provide the familiar Stratocaster chime.
The additional push/pull switching further expands the available tonal palette.
HOW IT COMPARES
JV Modified vs Standard Vintage-Style Strat
A conventional vintage-inspired Strat often uses a 7.25" radius, small vintage frets and standard non-locking tuners.
The JV Modified combines a vintage aesthetic with a 9.5" radius, medium-jumbo frets and locking tuners for greater everyday practicality.
JV Modified vs Player Stratocaster
The Player Series generally uses a Modern “C” neck and more contemporary overall specification.
The JV Modified feels noticeably more vintage-inspired thanks to its Thick Soft “V” neck, vintage-style pickups and traditional visual details.
Maple vs Rosewood Fingerboard
A maple fingerboard gives the guitar a brighter visual appearance and a traditional one-piece Fender neck feel.
Players who prefer a darker fingerboard aesthetic may prefer rosewood-equipped Strat variants.
