The Gibson Les Paul BFG in Transparent Ebony is a stripped-back Les Paul variant built around a mahogany body with a carved maple top and a set mahogany neck with a 24.75-inch scale length. It uses a simplified aesthetic approach while retaining core Les Paul construction, sustain characteristics, and weight-relieved body design.

The HH pickup configuration uses two Gibson humbuckers, delivering a thick midrange-focused response with strong sustain, warm lows, and a smooth high end. The bridge position provides higher output and more aggressive attack, while the neck pickup produces a rounder, more vocal tone suited for leads and clean passages.

The electronics are 2 volume and 2 tone controls with a 3-way pickup selector switch, giving independent control over each pickup’s output and tonal shaping. This layout allows blending and balancing of the two humbuckers with more flexibility while keeping the overall design direct and performance-focused.
