Detailed Features & Benefits

Expressive 61-Key Semi-Weighted Keyboard

The Novation Impulse 61 features a full-size, semi-weighted keyboard designed to provide a responsive and expressive playing experience. Its velocity-sensitive keys and assignable aftertouch allow musicians to add dynamics and expression to their performances, making it particularly effective for playing virtual pianos, synthesizers, strings and orchestral instruments. Novation's High Rate Scan technology captures subtle changes in playing dynamics, helping produce accurate and natural MIDI performances.

Comprehensive DAW Control

Designed to integrate with popular music production software, the Impulse 61 provides convenient hands-on control of recording, mixing and editing functions. Nine assignable faders, eight endless rotary encoders and dedicated transport controls allow users to adjust mixer levels, control virtual instrument parameters and navigate recording sessions without constantly reaching for a computer mouse. Its flexible MIDI implementation makes it a versatile centrepiece for a software-based recording setup.

Eight Backlit Performance Pads

The Impulse 61 includes eight velocity-sensitive and pressure-sensitive performance pads with multicolour backlighting. These can be used to trigger drum samples, create rhythmic patterns, control software instruments or launch clips in compatible applications. The pads also support performance features such as roll functions, providing an engaging way to develop beats and experiment with musical ideas.

Built-In Arpeggiator and Creative Controls

A built-in arpeggiator adds another dimension to the Impulse 61's creative capabilities, allowing musicians to generate rhythmic note patterns directly from the keyboard. Combined with dedicated pitch-bend and modulation wheels, octave controls and extensive MIDI assignment options, the Impulse offers plenty of opportunities to develop expressive synthesizer parts, evolving sequences and dynamic live performances.

Clear LCD Display and Intuitive Operation

The custom backlit LCD provides useful visual feedback when adjusting parameters, navigating settings and working with supported music software. The display is conveniently positioned above the keyboard controls, helping musicians keep track of assignments and performance information. On this particular example, the original protective film remains fitted to the screen, a pleasing detail for a pre-owned instrument.

Flexible USB and MIDI Connectivity

The Impulse 61 features USB connectivity for integration with Mac and Windows computers, alongside traditional 5-pin MIDI input and output connections for external keyboards, synthesizers and sound modules. Dedicated sustain and expression pedal inputs provide additional performance options. USB bus power also allows the keyboard to operate from a compatible computer connection without requiring a separate mains adaptor.

Excellent Pre-Owned Condition

This Novation Impulse 61 is presented in Excellent Condition, with very light signs of previous use. The original protective film remains on the LCD display, helping preserve its appearance. The keyboard is supplied on its own, without the original packaging, printed user manual or USB connection cable. A suitable USB Type-B cable will be required for connection to a computer.
